December Glossy Box
Aloha dear readers, long time no speak. I recently decided to subscribe to glossy box and see what all the fuss was about. I waited impatiently and finally retrieved a sodden box from behind the bin today (…thanks again for that Mr delivery man!) I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the contents of the box as I’ve seen varying reviews. The box was a very festive silver with equally festive black and silver starry tissue paper and silver ribbon which luckily had withstood the rain.
The first thing I pulled out was a ritual magic touch cherry blossom and rice milk body cream. Not a brand I’d heard of before but this has a nice light scent and glossy box claims the 70ml tube is worth £5, nothing overly exciting but nice enough.
The second item was a sleek lipstick in stiletto (a bright bluish matte red) I really like the colour of this lipstick and it’s nice for the festive season however I was a little disappointed as it is only worth £4.99 and readily available so hardly a “luxury” product.
There was also a black envelope containing 2 fairly generous samples kf face cream which apparently sells at £147 per 70ml! I like this, it looks and smells expensive and is a proper luxury sample. I reckon you could get about 8 days use out of the sachets which seems fair.
My favourite product from the box was a lovely pinky purple seche nail polish. I was really excited about this being a bit of a nail polish fanatic and never having had the chance to they seche viete. This retails for £9.95 and as far as I’m concerned is fairly hard to find. Extra points for the lovely wearable colour too!
There was also a little sample of Mary Greenwell’s new fragrance ‘Lemon’ which is nice and a little glossybox blusher which I’m afraid to say is a little tacky but nice as a little freebie.
The box is probably worth about £25 so not bad value for money and a nice way to try products you might not have considered otherwise. At £12.95 it is expensive especially if none of the products are to your taste but I guess the surprise is half the fun.
All in all? 6 / 10 Thanks for reading and I’ll post a few pictures to go with this review. X

The Beauty Cupboard: MAC Prep + Prime transparent finishing powder →
I was going to write this review on Friday and I’m so glad I didn’t now because my opinion of this product has dramatically changed over the weekend!
Lets start with the basics. The powder is 17.50 (sterling) for 9g. Its not massive but you don’t need much and as MAC prices go its actually pretty…
Product review – double glammy gorgeous lips kit

I LOVE this! I bought it a few weeks ago intending to give it away as a Christmas present but I caved in and opened it for myself (I also opened a mani – pedi set I’d bought for someone but that’s not important!) It comes in cute pink packaging with a double mirror which clips shut, a ‘marvelips’ crayon and the sexy mother pucker plumping lip gloss.
I tried the lip gloss by itself first and really liked it, it’s a pretty nude colour and when you put it on it starts to tingle, it’s a strange but not unpleasant sensation. The gloss is really nice and shiny and it stayed put for quite a while too, I think it did plump my lips too but its hard for me to tell because my lips are already massive (seriously I took some before and after pics to show you guys but I was too embarrassed to post them)
I tried the crayon for the first time yesterday and I’m hooked already. The colour is kind of a rich brownish pink (really wearable) and the white end of the crayon adds a lovely shimmer if you apply it over the colour. I expected it to be matte but it was shiny like a lip gloss as well as gliding on like one and felt really creamy. I hate it when you wear lip gloss and you get that stupid line around your lips or it goes patchy and funny. This however doesn’t do this so it really has made my dreams come true! I seriously cannot recommend this highly enough, buy it, now!
The gloss looks nice over the crayon too but to be honest I really don’t think you need it, they both look so nice on their own. I did however find that when I put the gloss over the pencil it didn’t tingle very much so I wonder if it has to be on bare lips to plump them properly. You can buy both products separately and I think the gloss comes in a range of colours but this is the perfect little Christmas gift set (just buy one for yourself too otherwise you’ll have to do more shopping like i’ve got to this weekend!) Its only £12 which for 2 lip glosses normally £8.25 each and quite a big double mirror is really quite a bargain. I bought mine from Boots in the 3 for 2 offer but asos stocks it too and I think theres an official Soap and Glory website (i’ll post some links when I submit this post)
So go and get those gorgeous soft plump lips everyone dreams of!

Winter beauty trends 2010
As promised here are the top beauty trends for winter 2010 as seen on the runway. I’ve broken them down into the main categories which occurred most often.
1) Bruised eyes
Now I don’t know if its just me or has the vampire craze really impacted on the beauty world? Lots of the top designers were making their models up with bruised looking eyes with dark circles underneath using greys, blacks and purples to give the sleep deprived look.
Seen here at Carolina Herrera

Michael Kors

Chloe

and Anna Sui

Basically if you look like you need a good nights sleep you’re doing it right!
2) As you can see from the last picture pale faces and berry lips were also a big look.
Christian Dior is a perfect example of the kind of reddish purple crushed blackberry colour

as is Proenza Schouler

Dolce and Gabbana did something similar but a little more red.

3) The most popular hair style seemed to be beautiful loose waves like these seen at Versace

and Diana von Furtsenberg

4) A slight colour was added to the pale cheeks with coral blush at Fendi

and at Oscar de la Renta

So there you have it. Now in the words of lady gaga ♪Show me your teeth!♪
I really hope you enjoyed reading this, it took me a long time to do but I enjoyed it.

Get Naked
Autumn seems to be all about nude. Nude jackets, nude nails and nude make up.
Nude at Armani Prive -

Nude nail polishes are appearing from Dior, Revlon and O.P.I

Urban Decay have just released a gorgeous ”naked” eye palette. This doesn’t seem to be available in the U.K yet (my bank balance is pleased however I am not) but I’m certain that it is in the U.S. Buy it now before its sold out and use it all winter long (and while you’re at it post one to me too!)
